The electronic media (e.g. web pages) are now getting popular and popular. However, we still need the paper media (e.g. books and magazines). EnhancedDesk is trying to integrate the paper media and the electronic media (e.g. web pages) by using image processing technology. The EnhancedDesk is composed of a TV-camera, a graphics workstation (GWS), and a video projector. The camera captures an image on the desk, which is sent to the GWS. The GWS detects users gestures, finds anchors on the book, retrieves corresponding information, and produces output via projector.
