THE JAPANESE HONEYNET PROJECT
Overview
The Japanese Honeynet Project is a non-profit research organization
focusing on honeynet technologies. The project is mainly operated by a
security team of Koike Laboratory in Graduate School of Information Systems
at University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan, and we also have
many collaborators from other universities such as Keio University, and
some research laboratories and companies.
The main goals of the project is to study motivations and tools of blackhats,
to develop surrounding technologies of honeynet, and to help improving
overall security in Japan as well as the World.
The Japanese Honeynet Project started at 2002 by implementing and deploying
Gen I honeynet. Until now, the project have been actively working on the
honeynet, such as translating Lance Spitzner's excellent book "Honeypots:
Tracking Hackers" into Japanese, translating The Honeynet Project's
useful whitepapers "Know
Your Enemy" series into Japanese, implementing and deploying several
honeynets on Internet, and keeping them monitoring.
